Succession at the top of the Hermes Abrasives Group
Kaspar Haller succeeds Jan Cord Becker as managing partner of Hermes Abrasives and will take over the company’s leadership from 1st October 2022.
Kaspar Haller, who has accompanied Hermes Abrasives as a shareholder for many years, is looking forward to this new challenge: "Being able to take on the responsibility of shaping the future is a great motivator for me." Professionally, he attaches great value to seizing opportunities decisively and courageously, driving change and constantly seeking optimal solutions. "Nature sets an example, it is not the strongest or most intelligent species that survives, but the one that reacts most flexibly to changing conditions," Kaspar Haller describes his guiding principle.
Kaspar Haller succeeds Dr Jan Cord Becker, who will leave the executive board on 30th September 2022 to pursue new professional challenges. "After almost 13 years as CEO of the Hermes Group, it is time for a change," says Jan Cord Becker.
"He significantly shaped the company's development over the past years and set it up for the future. We shareholders regret Jan Cord Becker's departure and thank him for his valuable achievements," comments Matthias Hartmann, Chairman of the Hermes shareholders' assembly. “All the more we are pleased that Jan Cord Becker will stay closely connected to the company as a shareholder and provide consulting support. This handover of responsibility from shareholder to shareholder in currently turbulent times is an important sign of business continuity and of our confidence in the company."
