Product & Process Engineer

Hermes Abrasives, Ltd., a leading supplier of coated and bonded abrasives products has an immediate opening for a Product & Process Engineer. 

Our ideal candidate will:

  • Lead and motivate a team of direct reports to enhance their stature and reputation as “go to” technical product experts for outside sales team and plant management team.
  • Recommend and oversee testing of customer specific solutions for product applications.
  • Recommend and execute quality improvement manufacturing process projects.
  • Recommend and actively engage in continuous and process improvement activities.
  • Act as liaison for Hermes Virginia technical personnel and other Hermes locations to clearly communicate and oversee engineering improvements, process production changes, machine redesign/enhancements and training.
  • Direct the investigation and recommend solutions to product complaints.
  • Key team member to participate in all “lean manufacturing” projects.

Requirements 

  • BS – Engineering or Manufacturing
  • Minimum 5 years engineering in a coated abrasives or comparable industry.
  • Strong people management experience, excellent oral and written communication skills and an ability to inspire confidence and motivate.
  • Have excellent project management skills and be able to demonstrate consistent achievement of delivering projects on-time and on-cost.
  • Be capable of strategic thinking, offering robust solutions that will improve both performance and profitability.
  • Demonstrate a strong track record of problem solving and solid analytical skill capability to look at and find solutions for a variety of operational challenges.

Arbejdsopgaver:

  • At sikre det eksisterende salg til vores kunder inden for industri og handel samt udvikle dem permanent og positivt i overensstemmelse med målene for den årlige salgsplanlægning og budgetspecifikation.
  • Arbejde meget selvstændigt med høj rejseaktivitet og store frihedsgrader samt yde aktiv støtte og kompetent rådgivning til eksisterende og kommende kunder i hele Danmark
  • Udvidelse af den eksisterende kundebase gennem opsøgende salg til potentielle kunder i den industrielle og kommercielle sektor.
  • Udførelse af konkurrence- og markedsanalyser.
  • Prisforhandling med kunder.
  • Problemløsning og optimering af slibeprocesser evt. i samarbejde med relevante interne teknikere samt regelmæssig tilstedeværelse på industrimesser.
  • Styring og bearbejdning af CRM-projekter.
  • Tilrettelæggelse af homeoffice aktiviteter samt regelmæssige rejseaktiviteter med besøg på hovedkontoret i Hamborg

Faglige kvalifikationer:

  • Kommerciel uddannelse / afsluttet studium og et højt fagligt teknisk niveau.
  • Flere års erfaring med salg af produkter til den industrielle / kommercielle sektor.
  • Tale og skrive flydende dansk og engelsk. (også gerne tysk).
  • Gode kendskaber til CRM og MS Office samt evt. SAP.

Bopæl eller villighed til at bosætte sig i region Midtjylland er en fordel.

Your Focus:

  • Responsibility for the production process and making continuous effort to achieve expected results
  • Management of a 30-person production team and ensuring optimal cooperation within the team
  • Responsibility for the production results in terms of quality, quantity and final results achieved by the team
  • Monitoring technological standards, e.g. determining parameters of the production process and solving technical, organizational and HR-related problems
